A Letter from Fr .Derek - January 24

This past Friday, the Church in the United States observed a day of prayer for the legal protection of the unborn.  The impetus for this is that the 22nd of January is the   anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision of the U.S.  Supreme Court which legalized abortion in the United States. Usually this observance would coincide with the March for Life in Washington, D.C. on the same day. This year, because it is an inauguration year, the date of the March is moved and, because of the pandemic, many things have been moved online. Here are some ways in which you can join with the local and national Church during the coming week. All of these will air on CatholicTV (www.catholictv.org, or on Comcast at 268 or Verizon at 296):

Sunday, January 24th  

· Culture of Life Mass at 12:30pm, 7:00pm, 11:30pm and on WLVI at 8:00am.

Friday, January 29th

· Holy Hour for Life from 7:00-8:00 am

· Mass for Giving Thanks to God for the Gift of Human Life at 11:00 and rebroadcast at 8:30pm.

The National Vigil for Life:

Thursday, January 28th

· Rosary at 8:00 pm

· Opening Mass at 8:30 pm

· Holy Hour at 10:00 pm

Friday, January 29th

· Holy Hour for Life from 7:00 – 8:00 am with
seminarians from St. John’s Seminary

· Closing Mass at 8:00 am.
