Covid-19 Response
Given the continued success of the vaccines, I am pleased that we are able to reduce the number and severity of restrictions that were put into place for Mass. Masks are no longer required for those who are fully vaccinated. The CDC and the Archdiocese do recommend and request that those who are not fully vaccinated continue to wear a mask. The right side of the church is open seating, while the left side will remain available for people who prefer more personal space. Please respect others’ preference for space in the spaced seating section. The two cry rooms remain available for reservation on SignUpGenius. Thank you for your continued cooperation and patience in these matters as we ease the restrictions while respecting others’ needs.
Lifting the Dispensation from the Sunday Obligation
In a letter dated June 8th, Cardinal Sean declared that the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass, which was put in place at the beginning of the pandemic, will be lifted beginning the weekend of June 19/20. In the letter, he sites the importance of the Eucharistic Liturgy in the lives of all Catholics. The full text of his letter can be read by clicking here.
It is important to remember that there are instances where the obligation does not apply. He specifically mentions those who are ill (please do not come if you are sick!), those who have been exposed to COVID or other communicable illness, those who are confined to their homes, hospitals or other facilities due to illness, infirmity, frailty or age; and those who are not yet able to be vaccinated, due to age or health consideration. For those unable to attend in-person for any of the above reasons, we will continue to livestream the 9:45 Sunday Mass, or the schedule for Catholic TV is below.
