Liturgy Commission

The spiritual life of St. Bartholomew’s is centered on the celebration of the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist in the Sunday Liturgy. The Liturgy Commission provides for our community dynamic, spiritual liturgies. Through a variety of liturgical experiences, we seek to give glory and praise to God and to grow in the Spirit together.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning Sunday and special Eucharistic liturgies
  • Planning the Triduum liturgies
  • Planning special liturgies other than Eucharistic celebrations (prayer services)
  • Training, scheduling and support for liturgical ministers
    • Eucharistic Ministers
    • Lectors
    • Ushers
    • Greeters
    • Altar Servers
  • Assist the Music Director in planning appropriate music for liturgies
  • Environmental design to enhance the seasonal appearance of the worship space
  • Liturgy of the Word for Children in consultation with the Director of Religious Education

Committee members:

  • Be registered members of parish
  • Be active participants in the liturgy at St. Bartholomew’s
  • Be knowledgeable of liturgical guidelines and willing to be trained in liturgical planning

  • Church preparation (physical space and worship aids)
