Opportunities for Children & Youth to serve in the Parish
The Mass is the source and summit of our faith, the time when we come together as a community to be renewed as we go through our daily lives sharing our faith with others in hundreds of seen and unseen ways. In addition to attending Mass as a family, St Bartholomew’s offers various ways to participate.
Altar Servers
Children in grade 4 and up are invited to be an Altar Server
Youth Choir is open to Children from 3rd grade to age 19 who like (or would like to try) to sing or play a musical instrument. Youth Choir practices every Sunday from 5:00-6:00 pm in the Church and sings the first Sunday of each month at the 9:45 Mass.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is an opportunity for children to hear and better understand the Mass through the readings and Gospel in simpler language taken from the Children’s Lectionary. Children are lead out from Mass after the opening prayer and return at the Prayers of the Faithful. Children’s Liturgy of the World is open to all children 4 years old and up.
