From Your Pastor

Reflection on the 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time: This weekend is a good time to offer thanks for all that we have as a faith community and as a nation. The readings this weekend speak of the peace of Christ. There are many definitions of peace…from the absence of war to the well-being of others. The peace of Christ means not only the absence of war and a feeling of well-being, but also a right relationship with God and neighbor. The peace of Christ is the realization of the kingdom of God on earth. What is it, if anything, that keeps us from the peace of Christ?
